Movie Revue: Columbiana

Best. Movie. Ever.

Best movie I've seen in ages. Movies about female assassins are the best movies ever IMO. This one is about a girl seeking vengeance for killing of her parents. The action scenes were the best, I'll say. The girl came to the States all on her own, escaping from her escort; she is one resourceful young girl, even escaping from the people who killed her parents. This young lady fool the whole group of male CIAs. She had the guts and gumption to seek revenge. It is a very admirable quality to fight for what you want and be proud of it.The young lady is now a fugitive from the law, but she sought her vengeance. I like it b/c they didn't expect a woman to be an assassin. They bought the whole group of CIAs to their knees.
Did you know that the creators of this movie also made Le Femme Nikita?
Plus, Zoe Saldana did a great job portraying orphan Catalina who is out for vengeance. Give this gal accolades! Great job, Ms. Saldana, for representing female assassins everywhere! Why don't action movies get the proper respect they deserve?
My love and respect to female assassins everywhere!!! Kill Bill (good job Uma Thurman!), Le Femme Nikita and now Columbiana!!!
I want to be able to stand and fight without any repercussions like any good assassin (but not kill anybody whilst doing it). I wouldn't have the guts and gumption to even speak up if one person was bugging me, let alone fight back with guns blazing (or in a rational sense with words). I'm such a chicken when it comes to speaking up for myself that I admire others who can speak up for themselves. I want to stand up in front of an audience and not freak out, Sometimes I tend to have stage fright when I'm in front of an audience.
I love Catalina b/c she is the type of person, type of lady, who I'd like to be, a go-getter, a no-nonsense type of gal that goes after what she wants and gets it at any cost.  She is not a fragile, weak woman who needs to be saved. No sir! She needs no saving! She believes in what she wants, she knows what she's capable of and gets it. I want that in me. She is tough and resilient, knowing she can win any fight that comes her way. She is my kind of girl to be. I love to be like her.

Govt Shutdown

Shut the hell up!
Just because you don't get your way, you lil brat, doesn't mean you should kill our fun...What a killjoy. The rest of the country shouldn't depend on you, but yet we have to. What bout the rest of the US who depends on govt assistance, who works for the govt, do they have to apply for unemployment?
No, cause govt is being shut down. And that includes assistance for the poorest of the poor.
We shouldn't have to depend on a child to govern our free world (USA) but it's a travesty we do.
Wish we can wipe your self-entitlement off. your pug ugly face You think you got a right to push us around like a ping pong ball. Well, you got another thing coming. We won't take this lying down anymore! So go to hell with it!  Making the govt workers go to work w/o pay...that must be unconstitutional or something. Seems so wrong. Seems more like volunteer work than a pay job.

Movie Revue: King Kong (1976)

I hate this stupid movie.

Reasons to hate this movie:
1) The guy, Jack Prescott, who was a stowaway on the ship, treated the woman, Dwan, a sole survivor of a shipwreck like a fragile piece of furniture. 'Help me, Jack!' Just because he rescue her didn't mean she was incapable of doing anything. Helping her like she can't get onto a boat by herself. Even helping her down the stairs. So annoying. WE ARE NOT DAMSELS IN DISTRESS! Gawd, he was so irksome! Also, they (the stupid men) kept thinking Kong will attack Dwan, like she can't handle herself around hin. Hey, boys, Kong was smarter than you any day of the week!
2) The military guys kept thinking the 'girl' was in danger, so they offed him. He wasn't scary; he had a gentle soul. Like any other human, he got mad when people annoyed him. And sad when he knew his life was ending. All through the movie I thought he was invincible until they killed him.
I was rooting for Kong through the movie.
What a stupid, male chauvinistic anti-feminist, anti-animal rights movie!

War

inspired by Dalton Trumbo's Johnny Got His Gun

Don't sucker yourself into war
Where you risk your life
For what?
Liberty, justice, freedom, your turf
Your life is more valuable than some dumb values--
Some dumb principles
Don't go risking all for the sake of
liberty, freedom, justice, turf
Value your own life
If you value yourself,
Don't fight--
Don't go to war
Let 'em call you coward
It's better than risking your life
Dying or
Becoming a vegetable for the rest of your natural life
It isn't worth the fight

Movie Review: Fifty Shades of Grey

As a woman,  I found this flick to be the most demeaning movie ever. The female in the relationship also known as the submissive, let herself be under the control of the man, known as the dominant. She had to wear, do, say whatever he wanted after she signed a contract. How demeaning. What's even worse is that she met him thru a journalistic interview. And she herself signed up to be his submissive. How degrading. And it gets worse. She knew what she was getting herself into when he show her his 'playroom' otherwise known as a bdsm room. She signed up for it anyways. Signed up to be bdsm. This isn't a relationship or love. This is sick. What's worse is she said she was falling in love with him that's why she left in the end. How can you love a guy like that is beyond me. Guy can't handle love; he wanted control of the women he was into.

The Balance of Life

to every strength,
there is a weakness,
to every effort,
there is an ability laid hidden
to every attempt at naive, innocent love

we are denied
denied our rights to be
accepted as humans with real emotions,
not merely as a plaything to be manipulated
denied our rights to be
treated as equal,
not to be demeaned and put down because of our differences
we are sick & tired
of being knocked down by people who thinks
'they know better'
it's for our own best interest'
what do they know?
they don't have disabilities
one thing i wish:
they would love us,
not be so condescending towards us,
acting like we're dumb and don't know anything
just b/c of our disabilities
